Individuals who wish to be eligible to receive the services of Community Living British Columbia (CLBC) must have specific assessments completed to help CLBC determine whether they meet their criteria for services.

What does it Assess?

For individuals aged 16 and older, this assessment helps determine eligibility for Community Living BC (CLBC) services, which support the transition to adulthood for those with diagnoses such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, and/or Intellectual Disability. It typically includes the assessment of:

  • Cognitive abilities

  • Adaptive functioning (e.g., daily living skills)

  • Developmental history

  • Impact of disability on daily functioning

*Depending on the individual needs, the assessment may also include:

  • An Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) assessment if ASD is suspected but not previously assessed and diagnosed.
