Home Based Programs

We accept clients that are 1 to 19 years of age

Why our home based programs?

Personalized Home Programs

We design customized home programs that fit your family’s needs and schedule.

Your journey begins with a comprehensive assessment by our Program Management team, led or supervised by a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) and may also include a Program Supervisor (Junior Behaviour Consultant). This includes a parent interview, a one-on-one assessment with your child, and the creation of a personalized behaviour intervention plan.

We also support you in finding and hiring Behaviour Interventionists (BIs) for your home team.

Please note: At this time, ABA Learning Centre does not provide agency-hired BIs for home programs.

We use standardized assessment protocols such as:

  • The Assessment of Basic Learning & Language Skills-Revised (ABLLS-R)

  • The Assessment of Functional Living Skills (AFLS)

  • The Verbal Behaviour Milestones Assessment and Placement

Our approach is grounded in evidence-based practices proven effective for autistic individuals. Our team is trained in leading methods such as:

 Early Start Denver Model

The Early Start Denver Model is an evidence-based, comprehensive, play-based approach to teaching toddlers and preschoolers with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). ESDM uses play to increase children’s interest in activities and people and improves their language and communication skills and self-expression. The focus is on communication, relationship skills and play.

The ESDM curriculum defines the skills to be taught at any given time and indicates a set of teaching procedures used to deliver this content. The early intervention program integrates a relationship-focused developmental model with the well-validated teaching practices of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). The core features include:

  • Naturalistic applied behavioral analytic strategies

  • Typical to normal developmental sequence

  • Deep parental involvement

  • Focus on interpersonal exchange and positive affect

  • Shared engagement with joint activities

  • Language and communication taught inside a positive, affect-based relationship.

Positive Behaviour Support

Support That Makes a Difference

Children with autism and developmental disabilities may sometimes engage in behaviours like aggression, refusal, or self-injury. These behaviours can be overwhelming for families and may disrupt daily routines, school involvement, and social activities. Without the right support, it can feel isolating.

You’re Not Alone—We’re Here to Help

Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is a research-based, family-centered approach that helps reduce challenging behaviours and improve everyday life. We work with you to understand why the behaviour is happening and develop strategies that fit naturally into your child’s routines.

Together, we create a personalized plan—with ongoing support and guidance—to help your child grow, thrive, and fully participate in family, school, and community life.

Practical Functional Assessment & Skills-Based Treatment

The Practical Functional Assessment (PFA) and Skills-Based Treatment (SBT) model is a compassionate, family-centered approach to understanding and supporting individuals who engage in challenging behaviors. It focuses on identifying the reasons behind these behaviors in a safe and respectful way, then teaching meaningful, functional skills that help the individual get their needs met in positive ways. This model values the input of families and caregivers, promotes dignity and safety, and aims to improve quality of life for everyone involved.
