Our Mission
At ABA Learning Centre, we recognize that the history of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) includes practices that have caused harm and trauma for many individuals. We understand, that these practices have the potential to continue the same cycle of trauma if we do not strive to do better. We deeply empathize with those experiences and acknowledge the voices of those who have shared their experiences and criticisms of earlier versions of ABA, especially those that prioritized compliance over well-being, and failed to consider the individual’s dignity, autonomy, and lived experience.
As a new generation of professionals and as an organization under renewed leadership, we are committed to evolving beyond those outdated models. We are dedicated to offering a compassionate and neurodiversity affirming approach that centers your child’s voice, choice, and overall well-being.
While carefully using the science of human behaviour, we aim to implement effective strategies that build on a child’s individual strengths and interests, in order to provide a safe and enriched environment, that encourages confidence and growth at their own pace.
